PP Tablewear

Polymer Glazings

‘PP Tablewear’ is an exploration of the merger of polypropylenes and porcelain tablewear. In the heat of the oven, the encounter of the two entities is overtaken by the characteristics and will of the participants: the porcelain on the one hand, and the plastics on the other.

'Polymer Glazings' is a series of works concentrating on interactions between clay (earth) and polymers (plastic). Central to these work is an exploration of plastics as a new type of ceramic source material, scattered as polymers are today across the earth's surface. In the heat of the ceramic kiln, polymer disposables melt together with clay or other classic materials, coming to new ceramic form.
